From energy drinks to midwifery, I’ve been supporting brands to communicate about their products and ideas for the past 12 years. In 2014, I transitioned from the corporate communications world to pursue a career more closely aligned with my values — a change inspired by the incredible community organisers I volunteered with at my local chapter of the Institute for International Women’s Rights. I’ve since had the privilege of leading teams of creative communicators at both grassroots organizations and global NGOs, including the Tanzania Midwives Association and the International Confederation of Midwives. In these roles, I’ve conceptualised and executed digital marketing strategies, large-scale in-person and online events, advocacy and storytelling workshops, and global communications campaigns, all in service of underscoring the potential of improved access to sexual and reproductive health services for women and gender diverse people.
I’m a strong talent developer and since joining Comotion in 2023, I’ve enjoyed leveraging my experience leading marketing teams at multi-national corporations to shape the Comotion Collective, our platform for fostering collaboration and advancing the careers of freelancers and consultants globally.
Most recently, my written and verbal communications skills have evolved into a passion for visual storytelling, and specifically, photography. I’ve started sharing my photography here (mainly action shots of my over-sized St-Bernard) as I continue to refine my skills.
I hold a degree in Rhetoric, Writing and Communications from the University of Winnipeg, and a Masters in Public Relations from Red River College.
