Overview: In September 2018, working with The Access Challenge we hosted a 600-person conference on the side of UNGA focused on Universal Health Coverage. We were involved in all aspects of the conference, including curating session content and engaging high-level speakers, managing speaker communications and preparations and managing vendor relations including liaison with web developers, designers and event managers.
Problem
The Access Challenge needed support with their 2018 conference on UHC – from the session content to securing and managing high-level speakers and vendors.
Objectives
Organise and execute a 600-person conference on the side of UNGA on behalf of The Access Challenge with an impressive cohort of high-level speakers.
Approach
We developed the conference communication strategy and led the content creation for all communication outputs including web and social and all email communication with partners and attendees.
Outcomes
We supported The Access Challenge to co-host a UHC-focused High-Level Conference and Awards Dinner 2018 at the Westin Times Square in New York City alongside His Excellency Jakaya Kikwete, former President of Tanzania. Representatives from Government, UN, philanthropic, investment, pharmaceutical and related sectors took part in this hands-on working session focused on the action items needed to attain worldwide universal health access. The conference consisted of four forums on the critical concerns in African health care: Child Health and Malaria; Maternal Health; Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs); and Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs).
