We worked with Girl Effect to strengthen and articulate their key messaging on the social impact of girls’ access to technology. This included drafting social media content and rewriting and updating their programme and partner web pages.
Problem
Girl Effect needed support with strengthening the key messaging around their various programmes and partnerships—updating their web pages accordingly—as well as with their daily social media content and other ad hoc communications tasks.
Objectives
Work alongside Girl Effect to draft daily social media content for their digital calendar, understand the background of each of their programmes and partnerships, redraft messaging around them accordingly and then update their web pages via WordPress.
Approach
We worked alongside Girl Effect and their design team to continuously draft social media content for their digital calendar. We also redrafted the web copy describing each of their programmes and partnerships and then updated the pages from their WordPress backend. Finally, we stepped in when additional communications tasks that required support came up, such as their World Vaccine Day plan and some research work to shape future content.
Outcomes
Daily social media content throughout the contract period, research support and a complete revision of their programmes’ and partnerships’ “about” pages. We also worked with Girl Effect’s partner GAVI on a communications plan for World Vaccine Day. Additionally, we supported the Girl Effect team with some research, including on African women role models throughout history, as well as a literature review on the power of girls’ access to technology.
