Partnerships Strategies Gender
We bridged World YWCA’s communication gap, developing a comprehensive 2024-2027 strategy. Our approach included compelling content creation, amplified leadership voices and successful digital fundraising, achieving a 50% increase in donations.

Since September 2023, we have been collaborating with World YWCA, a global movement dedicated to empowering women, young women and girls, to develop and implement tailored communications aligned with the World YWCA’s feminist advocacy principles. This strategic collaboration leverages our expertise across service areas to amplify World YWCA’s global impact.

Problem

World YWCA faced limited internal resources for communications and engagement activities, hindering their ability to effectively communicate their vital work and secure funding. They needed a partner to bridge the gap between their ambitious goals and the day-to-day realities of communication.

Objectives
  • Develop and implement the 2024-2027 Communications & Engagement Strategy.
  • Create compelling content across various channels to engage diverse audiences.
  • Support World YWCA’s fundraising efforts through digital communication strategies.
  • Provide ongoing support for daily communications tasks
Approach

We developed a data-driven communications and engagement strategy and provided ongoing project management, training and event support to advance its implementation. We advise and provide support for the ongoing content development for their digital channels (social, email and web), produce talking points for World YWCA team members and partners for various events and speaking opportunities and provide recommendations and guidance for collaborations with suppliers, including videographers, web developers and graphic designers.

Outcomes
  • Enhanced Storytelling: World YWCA’s global presence has been strengthened through impactful narratives and content, including blog posts delving into specific initiatives and crafting effective messaging for their mission and values.
  • Amplified Leadership Voices: We actively amplify the voices of World YWCA leaders, particularly General Secretary Casey Harden, by developing a mini digital thought leadership program, crafting messages for the World YWCA movement and writing talking points for key events.
  • Strategic Planning & Capacity Building: A comprehensive communications and engagement strategy and workplan for 2024-2027.
  • Digital Fundraising Support: We directly supported World YWCA’s fundraising efforts by developing a successful end-of-year campaign in 2023, using a long-tail storytelling series that led to a 50% increase in donations compared to the previous year.
