To support Girl Up, we provided a full-service governance programme that included registration of charitable status in England and Wales, formation and delegation of a Board of Trustees, creation of governance documents and processes, trustee liaison and board engagement.
Problem
Girl Up was transitioning from a US based head office-to-regional hubs and needed support to register their UK charity and manage all related organisational and governance requirements including the formation and delegation of their Board of Trustees.
Objectives
Secure Girl Up charitable status in England and Wales, setting up and managing their Board of Trustees and managing all governance and process requirements.
Approach
We led a phased approach in establishing and registering Girl Up with charitable status in England and Wales and then continued to support their other organisational needs.
Outcomes
Girl Up UK is now an established and legally registered branch of the organisation with an appointed Board of Trustees and a fully functional governance structure.
