Chayn has a mission to reach 1 million survivors of gender-based violence with our resources, products and services. We’re looking for someone to work alongside our Head of Comms to deliver social media and comms support in line with our brand new comms strategy.
Responsibilities
- Utilising social media to reach 1 million survivors
- Using content from our products for social media to help us reach a wider audience
- Creating and developing engaging content for Instagram and other platforms
- Translating the overall comms strategy into compelling social media content and take ownership of our social media channels.
- Helping to develop and maintain our social media content calendar.
- Developing Google Ads and Meta Ads content with some coordination.
- Monitoring and reporting on trending content to assist in content creation and development.
- Staying on top of social media trends and pitching ideas to increase engagement.
- Coordinating social media campaigns with the Head of Comms as required.
- Creating video content with and for survivors that is relatable, informative and supportive.
- Developing a survivor-focused signature series that utilises video content to engage and support survivors
- Editing videos – both long and short form – and optimising them for social media consumption
- Working with our team, our community of volunteers and our 1-1 messaging team who directly support our users, to produce and publish video content
- Build an engaged and active community on social media which supports our movement building work.
- Engaging with and maintaining conversations with our community across social platforms.
- Writing engaging, insightful copy for captions, blog posts, website, newsletters, and other content, when needed. .
- Supporting community-building activities, including event administration and outreach.
Your profile
- 4+ years in a comms, marketing or social media position with thorough experience creating content for a global audience
- Understanding of gender-based violence and passion for intersectional feminism
- Knowledge and experience in writing about issues related to violence against women, trauma-support and healing
- Experience of working for diverse cultural and geographical audiences, and a sensitivity to communicating in different cultural and social contexts
- Excellent native-level written and verbal English, other languages an asset
- Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills for a variety of audiences
- Advanced level of experience producing social media content inspiring people into action for Instagram, Facebook, and others
- Knowledge of what forms of video work best on different social media channels
- Track record of developing content for multiple online platforms
- Experience managing, developing and delivering on Google and Meta ads.
- Design experience and knowledge of design tools like Canva or Adobe Creative Cloud
- Proven track record in creating original content series that deliver views
- Experience in producing accessible and intersectional content
- Excellent organisational skills, great attention to detail, comfortable with iterative processes and working in a dynamic environment
